I am a stickler for getting a language right. I think I've learned more French in writing for Adrien than I did in high school and while in Europe. On that note, I figured I'd share a couple links that explain in detail French endearments and the way to go about using the possessive pronouns mon (masculine), ma  (feminine), and mes (plural). Anyone who has studied French, Spanish, German, or really any other European language knows that nouns have a specific gender that the possessive pronoun must agree with (with the exception of French such as mon amie: my female friend - when the first letter of the feminine noun is a vowel, use the masculine pronoun). With that in mind, the links:

About.com - French Possessive Adjectives
: (Note: continued on three pages) Gives rules of possessive adjectives and plenty of examples
About.com - French Love Language and Terms of Endearment
: (Note: continued on two pages) Lists French terms for romance and terms of endearment (not just the ones we know in America!)
About.com - All About "Aimer" ("Love"): Goes into rules for the use of Aimer (love: example - Je t'aime! I love you!)

I figured these links might be helpful, considering the online translators do not translate pronouns correctly and there are a TON more expressions for endearment in French than we English-speaking people use.

At this level of Dominate, the force of the Kindred's psyche is such that it can utterly supplant the mind of a mortal subject. Speaking isn't required, although the vampire must capture the victim's gaze. During the psychic struggle, the contestants' eyes are locked on one another.

Once the Kindred crushes the subject's mind, the vampire moves his own consciousness into the victim's body and controls it as easily as he uses his own. The mortal falls into a mental fugue while under possession. She is aware of events only in a distorted, dreamlike fashion. In turn, the vampire's mind focuses entirely on controlling his mortal subject. His immortal body lies in a torpid state, defenseless against any actions made toward it. Vampires cannot possess one another in this fashion, as even the weakest Kindred's mind is strong enough to resist such straightforward mental dominance. Only through a blood bond can one vampire control another to this degree.

System: The vampire must completely strip away the target's Willpower prior to possessing her. The player spends a Willpower point, then rolls Charisma + Intimidation, while the subject rolls Willpower in a resisted action (difficulty 7 for both). For each success the vampire obtains over the victim's total, the target loses a point of temporary Willpower. Each success the subject gains over the vampire's total equals another die she adds to her roll on the next turn. It's often only a matter of time before the victim falls under the vampire's power. Only if the attacker botches can the subject escape her fate, since this makes the target permanently immune to any further Dominate attempts by that vampire.

Once the target loses all her temporary Willpower, her mind is open to the vampire. The vampire rolls Manipulation + Intimidation (difficulty 7) to determine how fully he assumes control of the mortal shell. Similar to the Animalism power Subsume the Spirit, multiple successes allow the character to utilize some mental Disciplines, noted on the chart below.

1 success                           Cannot use Disciplines
2 successes                       Can use Auspex
3 successes                       Can also use Dominate, Presence
4 successes                       Can also use Chimerstry, Dementation
5 successes                       Can also use Necromancy, Thaumaturgy

The character may travel as far from his body as he is physically able while possessing the mortal. The vampire may also venture out during the day, albeit in the mortal form. However, the vampire's own body must be awake to do so, requiring a successful roll to remain awake (see p. 204). If the vampire leaves the mortal shell (by choice, if his body falls asleep, through supernatural expulsion, after sustaining significant injury), his consciousness returns to his physical form in an instant.

Once freed from possession, the mortal regains mental control of herself. This can happen in an instant, or the victim may lie comatose for. days while her psyche copes with the violation.

The vampire experiences everything the mortal body feels during possession, from pleasure to pain. In fact, any damage the victim's body sustains is also applied to the character's body (although the Kindred may soak as normal). If the mortal dies before the vampire's soul can flee from the body, the character's body falls into torpor. Presumably this is in sympathetic response to the massive trauma of death, although some Kindred believe that the vampire's soul is cast adrift during this time and must find its way back to the body.

The Kindred can remain in the mortal's body even if his own torpid form is destroyed, though such a pathetic creature is not likely to exist for long. At each sunrise, the vampire must roll Courage (difficulty 8) or be expelled from the body. If forced from the mortal body, the vampire tumbles into the astral plane, his soul permanently lost in the spirit world. Nor may a vampire trapped in a mortal body be "re-Embraced"; if the Embrace occurs to such a creature, he simply meets Final Death.

My Dearest Anika, the tag reads Merry Christmas.

*inside, there is a note*

I have been told, ma chere, that I should get you a bouquet of flowers for Christmas. This is, I have been told, supposed to be a gesture of goodwill on my part, for having written so much about a poor woman like you. Well, ma petite, if you wanted a Christmas gift, you didn't need to use an excuse. I am more than willing to give, purely out of the goodness of my heart.

Why'd I hafta be born different, anyways?

Jean-Paul says I scared the buck away. I didn't see it! Really! Stupid antlers made it look like one of the trees. I did shoot a rabbit, but Jean-Paul says I can't come hunting with him again. I slugged him and father whipped me, but it wasn't my fault. Older brothers should be made to take their younger brothers hunting. The only reason the king hasn't made it a law is because he doesn't have an older brother! I'm going to teach Belle to be the best hunting hound, and then they'll see! I'll shoot that boar that's been rooting around in our fields.

Mother was coughing up blood today. She thought I couldn't see. I asked the doctor about it, and he reassured me that everything was okay. Adults do that when something is wrong. He tried blood-letting today, but mother just passed out. The doctor says that when she wakes, she'll be better. I hope so.

I was trying to teach Belle to chase some stupid pigeon, but all she wants to do is play with it. Father whipped me again for killing one of his pigeons, but how am I supposed to teach Belle to be a good hunting hound if she doesn't have anything to hunt? Mother made me promise to mind father. I don't want to. He doesn't understand.

I'm taking Belle hunting tomorrow. If I'm not allowed to teach her at home, I've got to find rabbits for her to practice with!

I turned nine today. That didn't stop Monsieur Laurent from demanding I read Plautus along with my brothers. Who cares if some Roman guy wrote plays? I would rather have been outside training Belle (father let me choose a puppy from the new litter!) but instead I was stuck in the musty old library from dawn until dusk with old Monsieur Laurent. Who cares about Latin, anyways?

Mother is still sick. A new doctor came to look at her (all the way from Paris!). He gave her something which smelled very strong and seemed to only make her feel worse. Father Roux says I should pray for her. I do, but God must have quit listening, because mother is getting sicker.

Jean-Paul says I can come with him tomorrow when he goes hunting! He won't let me practice with his new musket, but I've been practicing with father's old crossbow and my aim isn't too bad! I almost hit the sapling he told me to aim for. The bolt scared the cook's old cat (but who cares about that mangy flea-bag, anyway?)

Well, I have to go. More tomorrow after my hunting trip!

((Mun's Note: This is part of a (hopefully) ongoing series focused on Adrien's childhood, before he was a vampire. The setting is Moulins, France. The date will be posted))

Christmas Shopping List:

1) A nightgown for Pepper that Deacon won't kill me for seeing.
2) A little black dress for Pepper because I couldn't resist.
3) A necklace for Pepper (again because I couldn't resist).
4) Something a little more practical, because rat-tailed combs may not always be on hand...
5) A little reminder that she's mine.

Christmas Wish List:

1) I would like to live to see Easter.
2) I would like things to be back the way they were, including Deacon Frost out of the picture.
3) Being off the FBI's most wanted list would be nice.
4) A few non-vampire-related jobs for a change.
5) Perhaps Pepper all to myself for Christmas Eve? Can I at least hope?

In all? I am greatly amused by psychological tests and this one was no exception. The only thing I regret was that there was no psychologist to torment in the process.

I am a Free-Wheeling Architect

Don't ask me how those two go together. Some of the results surprised me, some didn't. I'm sure there are people that would be surprised I scored so high on masculinity.

If you want to take the test, it's here.

((Pepper-mun is a total enabler! I blame her for this fic, which is totally taken from this OOC-ish thread She is used here without permission yet but with much love. This post contains graphic violence and sex, scenes of rape, and a graphic murder. You have been warned.))

((Pepper! Take a look at this and let me know if it's okay!))

Present Day

“...Molyneux is believed to be among the victims of the epidemic ravaging Los Angeles. FBI agents have been unable to find his body, but in a raid on a cabin outside Los Angeles believed to belong to Molyneux, they found the bodies of three women missing since July, bringing his total known body count to eight, though the FBI suspects him to be involved in as many as twenty contract killings in the Tampa area. Police also seized a car and a motorcycle registered to “Roman Ivanov”. Police have given no word yet whether the name is another of Molyneux's aliases or if the man was one of his victims. If it is a new alias, it could point to possible connections to the Russian mafia for the wanted hitman, making it less likely that Molyneux is even in the country. Again, it is unconfirmed, but Adrien Donatien Molyneux is believed to have perished in the epidemic ravaging Los Angeles...”

Otherwise known as National Novel Writing Month.

I lost my mind and decided to participate this year. I have a plot already planned out. Now I just need to flesh it out a little, add details and stuff from the dark and scary place I call a brain.

I actually posted what I have planned out so far here, along with tips for others to begin writing for this.

Pray for me, I may not survive this.

Wanted!
